Effective July 1^st, 2010, SWFMD changed year-round water conservation measures to allow lawn watering twice per week for privately owned wells and lake source irrigation. SWFMD is the non-elected policy making board that is followed by Pinellas County Commissioners for lawn watering restrictions. SWFMD has taken jurisdiction of all water on or below the land you own.

Quite early for Sod Webworms but they have been observed in several locations throughout Pinellas County. This is a strong indicator that this will be a boom year for Sod Webworms.

Chinch Bug DamageIt is that time of the year when the Chinch bugs are very active. Chinch Bugs like it hot and dry – or at least they like their St Augustine hot and dry – and it is hot and dry. So be alert as Chinch bug damage is so complete there is no recovery. As part of my service I control Chinch Bugs, however this year may be an active Chinch Bug year because the cool weather delayed and retarded insecticide treatments.
