Antigua HOA – 10th Year Anniversary as the Lawn Spraying Vendor

Ten years! That is a long time to be a vendor for an HOA – ten years is even more remarkable when you are the lawn spraying vendor. HOA Presidents change, economies go up and down and people move in and out – the community is in constant change. Then there is the lawn – regulations change, the weather goes up and down and insects move in and out – the landscape is in constant change.

But for me the challenge of constant change is part of the job. I overcome the constant change with knowledge – 4 year degree in agronomy from Va Tech - and experience – over 30 years growing grass. Antigua has thrown some unique challenges my way but I quickly solved every problem and kept the landscape a welcoming setting for the residents and their guests.

I remember the reason the previous lawn spraying company was fired: They didn’t show up! I often tell young entrepreneurs wanting to start up a green industry business “The fastest way to get fired from a job is not show up!” I am diligent about scheduling and staying on schedule. Lawn spraying is like the drumbeat of the landscape – you can neither get ahead of schedule nor behind, you just stay in a steady rhythm and the landscape will respond.

But should emergencies arise – like a rare disease attacks the turf – I can use my knowledge and experience to quickly and correctly respond to emergencies. For ten years at Antigua I have been responding to questions and emergencies – either solving the problem or educating the HOA and methods to correct and prevent the problem.

Today, the landscape at Antigua is better than it was ten years ago – a beautiful welcoming setting for the community. So thanks Antigua for allowing me – the lawn spraying guy – to practice my trade through every type of weather and condition!
